For an arrival at Ahmedabad Airport after midnight, put the local arrival date and actual terminal beside the transfer booking. Then check where that particular service will meet you. A saved note saying “outside arrivals” may be too vague for a family carrying bags in the middle of the night.
Do not choose the terminal just from the words domestic or international. Air India’s own Ahmedabad information currently says it operates from Terminal 2. That is airline-specific information, not an assignment for every flight. Use the current booking and airline response for your flight.
First settle what kind of pickup you have
The airport operator’s arrival guide distinguishes pre-arranged transport, described as accessible in the Multi-Level Car Park, from taxis, app-based cabs and shuttles described as outside the terminal. The same guide describes the Arrival Hall as a meeting place for family, friends or pre-arranged transport.
These are broad facility descriptions, not one exact driver meeting point. Ask your provider whether the driver will meet the passenger in the hall or wait with the vehicle, which exit to use and where the vehicle can collect the group. A passenger rendezvous and a vehicle boarding point need not be the same place.
Do not borrow a shuttle lane for your taxi
The airport transport page lists a taxi pickup at the Terminal 1 Arrivals Exit Gate. It separately gives lane details for the inter-terminal coach, including Terminal 1 arrival Lane 1 and Terminal 2 arrival-plaza Lane 1. Those coach instructions do not establish the lane for a private car or an app booking.
If the driver’s message conflicts with signs or the booking instructions, show the details to airport staff before taking the family to a different location. Do not guess that a lane number is universal because it appears on the airport website.
After midnight, the calendar date matters
Write the date at Ahmedabad arrival, not only the date when the flight leaves its origin. Include the flight number, passenger name and actual terminal in the pickup record. If the flight moves across midnight or arrives late, ask the provider to confirm that the transfer still matches the updated arrival.
This guide does not establish a live car allocation, a late-night desk’s staffing or a driver’s free-waiting allowance. A general service-hours statement for one airport facility does not promise every provider is ready for every delayed flight.
Make the meeting point usable for the whole family
Ask what the passenger must do from the arrival exit to the actual vehicle: changes of level, any walking and who handles the cases. If a parent uses a wheelchair or cannot manage steps, confirm a usable route and the point where airport assistance ends.
No particular lift, distance or continuous escort is verified here. Do not send one parent to look for the driver while another companion searches for a car park. Agree a staffed meeting point and a way to reconnect before separating.
Verify the driver before boarding
Match the driver and vehicle with the transfer confirmation or the actual app booking. Have the provider confirm any replacement. A person who knows the hotel name is not enough evidence that they are your booked driver.
Check the full destination, passenger and bag capacity, payment method, total price and applicable airport, waiting or cancellation charges. This article gives no fixed fare or free-parking promise. If a vehicle cannot take the family and luggage, settle the alternative through the service rather than accepting an unexplained split.
Keep the hotel handover attached
Tell the hotel the expected local arrival and check how to enter or check in at that hour. A correct airport pickup can still end at a locked entrance if the hotel was expecting you on a different date.
Keep the booking, address and fallback contact available offline. If the first phone stops working, another traveller should still know whom to ask and what was agreed.
