For Ahmedabad to Hanoi with parents, do not start by assuming Delhi and Bangkok are the only choices. First ask for the complete options on the actual dates, including any nonstop result. Then compare the ticket, processing steps and whole journey, not the hub name alone.
This is a proposal-checking guide, not a live flight search. No fare, fixed timetable, minimum connection time or entry permission is confirmed here.
Check the announced nonstop before choosing a hub
Vietnam Airlines' October 2026 newsletter announces a direct Ahmedabad-Hanoi route from 3 November 2026. Its own route campaign also names that start date. This is a dated route lead to check, not a guarantee of seats or operation on every travel date.
Ask the seller to show any available nonstop beside the connecting proposals. Compare departure and arrival dates, required services and full price. A nonstop label alone does not settle the best arrival time or the booking terms.
Delhi: check the exact Easy Connect service
Air India's 1 September 2026 announcement introduced Easy Connect from Ahmedabad via Delhi and included Hanoi among the onward destinations for the named evening feeder. Its 1 May 2026 release records the Delhi-Hanoi inauguration.
Do not apply the Easy Connect description to every Ahmedabad-Delhi flight or a separately assembled booking. Ask whether the proposed service and ticket are eligible, which pre-departure enrolment and processing steps apply, and what the airline confirms for luggage and the Delhi transfer. The release describes a specific programme, not a promise for any two flights.
Also check the return independently. The September announcement said inbound Easy Connect operations would begin soon; that wording does not establish the current return process.
Bangkok: a route page is not a confirmed connection
Thai Airways has an Ahmedabad-Hanoi booking page. That page is a starting point for a date search, not proof of a particular Bangkok connection, its availability or its handling. A current through itinerary via Bangkok remains unconfirmed until the seller produces it.
If a Bangkok proposal is offered, read every airport, local date and operating airline. Ask whether it is one ticket or separate tickets, where luggage is tagged to, whether collection/check-in is needed and how assistance continues between flights. Do not infer those answers from a city name or one checkout payment.
Put the proposals on the same page
- Every flight and airport, with local departure and arrival dates.
- Actual stop count, waiting conditions and any overnight or airport change.
- One ticket or separate tickets, plus who handles a missed connection.
- Confirmed luggage and transfer steps for that ticket.
- Assistance handovers, seated rest and the parents' practical needs.
- Final cost including required services, change/cancellation terms and arrival pickup.
Entry and transit eligibility need a separate official check for the actual passport and itinerary. This guide gives no Thai or Vietnamese visa conclusion and no universal connection-gap rule.
TripKeeper's comparison test
Ask the seller to explain the complete journey to the parents in plain language. If a proposed Delhi service is not confirmed as Easy Connect, or the Bangkok journey is only a route-page suggestion, mark that gap before comparing prices. Prefer a fully explained proposal over an apparently shorter or cheaper one with unanswered responsibilities.
Sources and limits
Checked 4 November 2026: Air India Easy Connect release, 1 September 2026; Air India Hanoi inauguration, 1 May 2026; Vietnam Airlines October 2026 newsletter; Vietnam Airlines route campaign naming 3 November 2026; Thai Airways Ahmedabad-Hanoi booking page. Announcements and route pages are not live inventory or the conditions of a specific ticket. No flights or assistance have been booked.
