- Pick Dungarpur if you want palaces and a shorter drive from Udaipur.
- Pick Banswara if you want a large reservoir, islands and a quieter, greener outing, especially after the monsoon.
- Do both only if you have at least four days, since the road between them is 104 km and neither page gives a drive time.

Incredible India calls October to March the pleasant window for Banswara, and its winter temperatures run from about 10.7 to 36.0 C. Time Dungarpur's fair for the Magh Purnima date in February, and book ahead if you plan to go.
