Most "Puri budget" pages give you a number with no date and no source. We found no official, dated cost figure for Puri, so we will not print one. What we can do is show you how to build the budget from four lines and which official facts change each line.
1. Hotels
Odisha Tourism's Puri page says stay options range from star-rated hotels and eco nature camps to OTDC government hotels, bed and breakfasts and homestays. The Jagannath Temple Administration also runs guest houses on Grand Road, near the temple, with online booking on its site. Our budget rule: get a written quote for your exact dates from two types, say a homestay and an OTDC or star property, and compare per-night totals including taxes. Winter dates and festival dates can price very differently, so quote them, do not guess.
2. Getting there and around
Puri has no airport you can fly into. The district page gives 60 km from Bhubaneswar airport, other official pages say 50 and 56 km. Your transfer is a taxi, a bus or a train, which our route guide compares. In town, the district page says buses, taxis and autos run from the station, which is 3 km from the temple. Ask for a quote for the airport transfer and a day of local taxi use.
3. Activities
The temple and the beach are the core of a Puri trip. We found no entry fee in the official sources we read for the temple. Other sights, such as day trips to Konark, will have their own costs, so check each one on the official page before you add it.
4. Food and buffer
Do not borrow a per-meal figure from a blog. Look at the menu prices where you plan to eat, and add a buffer of your own for tips, donations and small purchases. Keep it as its own line so it does not hide inside the others.
5. Put it together
Add: hotel nights x nightly quote, transfers x quotes, activities x checked fees, food and buffer. Do it for two hotel types. The gap between the two totals is your real decision, and it is yours, not ours.
