Illustration: a fictional family waits with bags in a generic transport forecourt. The background bus is fictional, not a Nagpur shuttle photograph, a working-service confirmation or an accessible boarding test.
Do not plan on either a guaranteed shuttle or a compulsory walk. The airport's undated guidance describes a shuttle, but a dated 2026 news report says an earlier feeder stopped and a replacement was under review. Without a travel-day confirmation, the station-to-terminal leg remains unresolved.
The sources do not give one reliable current timetable
The airport's FAQ and first-time traveller guide, retrieved on 6 November 2026 without a clear publication/update date, describe Airport Metro station as under 1 km from the terminal and an AC shuttle every 30-60 minutes. That is the airport's published description, not a measured walking route or confirmed departure for your journey.
A 27 August 2026 Times of India report says the earlier NMC feeder had been discontinued and a revamped service remained under review by the airport. This is dated secondary reporting, not an operator's live service notice. We cannot tell from the undated airport text whether it was updated after that report.
The sources therefore conflict or refer to different service stages. We do not select one timetable, declare a restart or state the shuttle is currently stopped. Current operating status, first/last trips, frequency, pickup and fare are unconfirmed here.
Older launch terms are not today's ride
A 1 February 2024 launch report gives a different interval, hours and fare. The older official Metro homepage also retains a shuttle-launch image and text without establishing a current schedule. Those launch records do not prove a bus is available now, much less that its old price and hours still apply.
Do not combine 2024 fare/hours, an undated airport interval and a 2026 proposal pickup into one invented service. A map or journey app listing is another lead to check, not evidence that a vehicle will meet your Metro arrival.
Confirm the exact Airport station
MahaMetro's undated Nagpur route map lists Airport, Airport South and New Airport as separate stops. Do not choose a stop only because its name contains "Airport". Tell staff you want the passenger terminal at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and ask for the current suitable station and terminal handover.
The map establishes named network stops, not which exit or lift reaches today's shuttle stop, whether the bus is operating or whether a particular terminal entrance is open.
A shuttle confirmation note
| Before choosing Metro | What a useful answer contains |
|---|---|
| Is the service running for my date/direction? | Current status and actual station-to-terminal or terminal-to-station coverage |
| Where do we wait? | Exact station exit/level and terminal pickup, plus the suitable approach with bags |
| When is the next ride? | Current departure information, waiting expectation and last usable service |
| What does it cost? | Actual fare/payment method, passenger and bag conditions |
| Can the family board? | Vehicle steps/ramp, space for the actual luggage/equipment and assistance handover |
| What if it does not arrive? | Alternative pickup and full quote confirmed before the connection becomes tight |
Suggested question: "We will be at [Airport Metro/terminal] on [date/time], with [people/bags]. Is the shuttle operating then, where exactly do we board and get off, what is the fare and does the approach/vehicle suit [walking or boarding need]?" Keep the current answer and contact available offline. A generic shuttle description is not a seat reservation or dispatch confirmation.
Walking is an option to assess, not the automatic fallback
The airport's distance description is not a surveyed pedestrian route. We have not measured the walk, checked crossings, pavement continuity, lighting, shelter or working lifts. No turn-by-turn directions, safe shortcut or walking time are supplied here.
If considering walking, first ask for the current pedestrian path from the actual station exit to the correct terminal entrance. Assess weather, bags, rest needs and the group's ability to manage the whole path. Do not infer that a short map distance makes it practical for parents or a wheelchair user.
If the path or shuttle is unsuitable or unconfirmed, compare a direct taxi/app ride or other current airport-listed transport. The airport transport page lists these categories but does not reserve a vehicle. Confirm the exact pickup/drop-off, capacity, full quote and waiting conditions.
For a departing flight, settle the last leg first
Work from the actual airline and airport instructions for your flight, then include the entire Metro-to-terminal handover, any waiting and the terminal process. An assumed bus interval is not a guaranteed flight connection. This article does not prescribe a universal reporting deadline or airport buffer.
Confirm mobility help separately through the appropriate provider; do not assume airport assistance will meet a Metro train or carry bags along an unverified outdoor path. Check the departure-day direction again even if a shuttle worked on an earlier arrival.
Reviewed 6 November 2026. No shuttle ride, departure check, fare purchase, measured walk, accessibility test or field photo survey was performed. The illustration and original confirmation worksheet are not live service evidence.
