Old Quarter is an area, not one door-to-door fare or bus stop. Save the hotel name, full address and entrance. For a first arrival, the right comparison is a confirmed taxi to that entrance versus a bus plus the remaining hotel journey.

What the airport says about taxis

Noi Bai's official transport page says passenger taxi service covers the first to final flight of the day. It describes operational requirements including functioning, calibrated meters, accurate fare calculation, payment facilities and a visible complaints hotline.

Use the airport's designated transport arrangements and current signs rather than following an unverified person offering a ride. Before starting, confirm the hotel destination, how the fare is calculated and what additional charges apply. This article does not give a guaranteed taxi price to every Old Quarter property.

Route 86 is not every hotel’s shuttle

The airport's current page lists Route 86 between Noi Bai and Hanoi Railway Station, with a VND50,000 fare. It lists a 7am-10.15pm operating window, but does not establish a departure for your exact arrival or the stop closest to your hotel. Check the actual service and stop before buying.

At the 25 October 2026 check, this differs from older tourism summaries that quote a cheaper fare and different hours. Use the owning airport or operator's current information. A railway-station endpoint does not itself prove a door-to-door Old Quarter service.

Terminal and minibus details need your actual booking

The airport also lists minibus points at halls A and E on the first floor of Terminal 1 and the east/west ends of the first floor of Terminal 2. That is not proof that every minibus goes to your hotel or has the same fare. Confirm the destination and terms of the specific service.

For a prebooked car or app ride, follow the actual booking's pickup and verify the vehicle. The regular taxi or minibus point is not automatically another provider's meeting place. Keep the hotel contact available if the entrance is difficult to identify.

Choose the workable final leg

A bus may suit a traveller who can manage the onward route and bags. A suitable car may reduce changes for a family or someone who walks slowly. Neither choice guarantees a fixed journey time through city traffic.

Landing close to the listed bus-service end is not the same as reaching the stop in time. Leave room for immigration, baggage and finding the pickup; arrange a fallback for a late arrival. Check the hotel's late check-in separately.
