Quick questions

Do Indians need a visa for Malaysia?

Not until 31 December 2026, for tourism, business, social visits or transit of up to 30 days. The Malaysian Immigration Department's country list shows India exempted through that date. Carry a passport valid for at least 6 months, a confirmed return flight ticket and a confirmed hotel booking.

When is the best time to visit Malaysia?

It depends on which coast you visit. METMalaysia says the Northeast Monsoon (November to March) brings heavy rain to the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, west Sarawak and east Sabah, while the Southwest Monsoon (late May to September) is relatively drier. West-coast states see their heaviest rain in the transition months between the two.

How hot does Malaysia get?

Tourism Malaysia describes a tropical climate that is warm all year: temperatures range from 21C to 32C, with annual rainfall of 2,000 to 2,500 mm.

What money, cards and plugs does Malaysia use?

The currency is the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR, written RM). Tourism Malaysia says international credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, shopping complexes, restaurants and shops. Sockets take a standard 3-pin plug at 240V and 50Hz.

Is the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card compulsory?

The Malaysian Immigration Department's MDAC FAQ says to complete and submit the card online as early as three days before the arrival date; only listed categories of travellers are exempt. Submit it on the official Immigration portal.

What health precautions matter for parents?

The UK Foreign Office advises making sure you have appropriate travel insurance for local treatment or unexpected medical evacuation, and notes that private hospitals in Malaysia charge for all services. Tourism Malaysia says public and private hospitals and clinics are located in every city.
