Mumbai to France: Flight route

Content updated 1 Nov 2026 Facts last checked 1 Nov 2026
The short answer

Air France is currently the only airline flying nonstop between Mumbai and Paris Charles de Gaulle, with two flights a day: one leaving around 2:20 am (landing about 7:45 am) and one around 5:10 am (landing about 10:50 am). The nonstop flight takes about 10 hours. Air India connects Mumbai and Paris with a change in Delhi, and Gulf carriers offer one-stop routings. Paris is 4.5 hours behind India in winter and 3.5 hours behind in summer.

Layovers

Air France is currently the only nonstop option on this route. Air India connects Mumbai and Paris with a change in Delhi, and Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines offer one-stop routings via their hubs; these add roughly 4-6 hours. We have not verified current one-stop schedules, so we do not list them.

For parents and seniors

At about 10 hours this is a long but manageable flight for older travellers. Ask the airline for wheelchair or buggy assistance when booking, and allow extra time at Mumbai's Terminal 2. Both Air France departures land in Paris in the morning, so plan an easy first day. Pre-book an airport taxi or take the RER B train into the city.

Quick questions

Are there direct flights from Mumbai to Paris?

Yes. Air France flies nonstop between Mumbai (Terminal 2) and Paris Charles de Gaulle twice a day: one flight leaves around 2:20 am and lands about 7:45 am, and another leaves around 5:10 am and lands about 10:50 am. The flight takes about 10 hours.

Does Air India fly from Mumbai to Paris?

Air India does not currently fly nonstop between Mumbai and Paris. It connects the two cities with a change in Delhi, where it runs its own nonstop flights to Paris. If you want a single-ticket journey on Air India, allow at least 2-3 hours for the Delhi change.

What is the time difference between Mumbai and Paris?

Paris is 4.5 hours behind Mumbai in winter (late October to late March) and 3.5 hours behind in summer. Flying west, the jet lag is mild: most children adjust within a day or two if you keep them in daylight on arrival.

Which terminals will we use?

In Mumbai, Air France departs from Terminal 2. In Paris, it arrives at Terminal 2E of Charles de Gaulle, which has clear signs to taxis and the RER B train into central Paris. Allow about an hour for immigration and bags at busy times.

Is a one-stop flight via Dubai or Doha worth it?

Usually not for families. Gulf routings can be cheaper, but they add roughly 4-6 hours plus the stress of a connection. With two nonstop Air France departures a day, the direct flight is worth a modest price difference when travelling with children or seniors.
