A bank logo or a familiar card network does not prove complimentary lounge entry. Start with the exact credit-card variant and its current benefit terms. Then check whether you have earned the benefit, how to use it, and whether the lounge in your departure terminal participates.
Same bank, different entry method
HDFC Bank’s Regalia Gold domestic lounge terms effective 1 July 2026 describe a spending condition of Rs 60,000 in the current calendar quarter to unlock three domestic accesses in the next quarter. They say eligible customers swipe the card at a listed lounge; no lounge vouchers are issued under that programme. The terms also contain a limited new-card exemption.
Its Diners Privilege terms describe a different voucher flow. From 1 July 2026, Rs 60,000 in the previous calendar quarter is the spending basis for three vouchers: two domestic within India and one international outside India. The primary cardholder generates eligible vouchers through SmartBuy; guests are not entitled to complimentary access under those terms. These are product-specific examples, not a bank-wide rule.
A useful pre-airport checklist
Open the current terms for your precise card. Check eligible spend exclusions, the settlement or posting date used, the qualifying quarter, remaining visits and any primary/add-on distinctions. A transaction made near quarter-end may not count in the quarter you expect if settlement is later.
Check the lounge list for the airport, terminal and domestic or international section you will actually use. Read the required entry method, voucher validity if relevant, guest and child rules, and any extra-service charges. Having a card does not mean everyone travelling with you is covered.
Check before accepting a charge
Regalia Gold’s terms describe a nominal Rs 2 validation transaction that is reversed. They also say that reversal alone does not mean the lounge visit was voided: explicitly ask lounge staff if you want to cancel the visit. Do not generalise that amount or reversal process to another card.
This article does not verify your personal eligibility or remaining quota and does not recommend spending more just to unlock a lounge. Confirm your entitlement with the issuer through its official channel before relying on access. Payable meals, extended stays and other services may have separate charges.
