Plan how you will obtain the itinerary, complete the airline’s check-in process and carry the boarding pass. Not having a smartphone is different from not having a valid booking or identification. Do not rely on a companion’s phone if that person will not travel with you.

Print the information you will actually need
Keep the airline booking confirmation, the correct passenger and flight details, and the contact route for your airline or booking agent. Carry valid original identification required for your journey. IndiGo’s carriage terms allow a printed itinerary; its boarding-pass page recommends a printed or soft copy. A paper itinerary is still not a boarding pass.
Complete online steps with trusted help if needed
If your airline requires online check-in, ask a trusted person to help through the official site before you leave. Check the passenger, flight, date and terminal together and print the current pass where issued. Do not share your booking reference or identity documents with a stranger offering help on social media. Retrieve the pass through the airline rather than editing a screenshot.
Confirm the airport fallback, not just that a counter exists
IndiGo describes airport check-in counters but also instructs passengers to complete mandatory web check-in. Before travel, ask what process applies if you have no smartphone, whether a kiosk can help and whether an assisted service carries a charge. Do not assume every airport has the same machines or every passenger qualifies for every method.
Watch the displays after arrival
Read the airport flight-information screens using the flight number, destination and date. Recheck the gate after security and if staff announce a change. IndiGo’s terms warn that at silent airports a loudspeaker announcement may not be made. A printed gate number can become stale; paper does not remove the need to check current information.
Keep a fallback contact plan
Write a contact number on a private note and decide where to meet if separated from a companion. For requested assistance, confirm the meeting point with the airline. Keep paper documents secure and accessible rather than inside checked baggage. Allow enough time for staff help, check-in, bag drop and security; a phone-free plan does not change the applicable deadlines.
