For parents travelling from Jodhpur to Singapore, start by asking for the entire journey to be priced and explained as one itinerary. Do not decide that it avoids a self-transfer just because the two flights have the same airline name, appear in one search result or come with one payment receipt.
Delhi and Mumbai are useful routes to investigate from dated Air India announcements. They are not a promise that a suitable connection operates on your date. This guide has not run a date-specific availability search or established a fare, minimum connection time or current terminal assignment.
Why investigate Delhi and Mumbai first?
Air India’s 11 July 2026 Jodhpur announcement described services to Mumbai and Delhi, with onward domestic and international connectivity through its hubs. Treat that as a dated network starting point, not today’s frequency or a bookable Jodhpur-Singapore connection.
Air India’s 7 October 2026 announcement with Singapore Airlines includes Delhi and Mumbai among the Indian cities covered by deeper commercial cooperation from 15 October. It describes eligible flights sold through the carriers’ booking channels. It does not establish that every domestic feeder and Singapore flight can be combined on the ticket you want.
Search Jodhpur to Singapore for the complete travel date, then examine the actual flights offered via each hub. Ask who operates each segment. An Air India flight number and an Air India-operated aircraft are not interchangeable descriptions.
Different airlines do not automatically mean self-transfer
Air India’s Air India Express partnership page, last updated 28 February 2026, explicitly covers Air India-ticketed codeshare journeys that combine Air India and Air India Express-operated segments. This is a defined arrangement, not permission to assume that two separately selected flights on those airlines have the same terms.
Likewise, the Singapore Airlines partnership announcement is not proof that an independently purchased Singapore Airlines flight is linked to a Jodhpur feeder. Ask the seller to identify the ticketing arrangement and the terms applying to both flights before payment.
Request an itinerary showing both flight dates, operating airlines and the transfer airport. Ask whether it is a single ticket covering the connection or separate tickets presented together. A single booking reference is a useful locator, not a substitute for the answer about the ticket and connection.
Get four answers for the actual itinerary
- Bags: where are checked bags tagged to, and must the passengers collect or recheck them at the connecting airport?
- Transfer: which terminals and processing steps apply, and who confirms the connection is valid for this booking?
- Disruption: if the first flight is late and the onward flight is missed, which airline or seller handles the remaining journey under these ticket terms?
- Assistance: who meets the passengers at arrival, takes them through the connection and hands them over for the next flight?
Do not replace these answers with a universal “two hours is enough” rule. Compare the actual journey, not only the time between landing and departure.
Air India Express on the first leg changes who you ask
For the Air India-ticketed Air India Express codeshare arrangements within its scope, the February policy says airport check-in is at the counter of the airline operating the first segment. It also says wheelchair assistance can be requested by calling either airline’s call centre, and assistance follows the operating carrier’s policies for each segment.
Use those statements to ask a specific question: if the Jodhpur flight is operated by Air India Express, where should the parents report, and how is onward assistance recorded? Do not assume a request attached to one flight establishes the complete handover. The policy is not confirmation that a particular flight, wheelchair service or bag transfer has been accepted for your journey.
Why this guide does not promise an IndiGo connection
The official pages checked on 4 November 2026 conflict: IndiGo’s Jodhpur-Singapore route page describes connecting flights, while a Singapore-Jaipur page’s FAQ says there is currently no Jodhpur-Singapore flight. These undated descriptions are not reliable proof of current date-specific availability.
An IndiGo option remains unconfirmed here. Check the airline’s live booking result for the travel date rather than quoting a fixed hub, duration or daily service from those pages.
TripKeeper’s family connection note
Keep one short note with both flight dates, operating carriers, ticketing arrangement, bag instructions, assistance handover and the disruption contact. Compare Delhi and Mumbai only after those details are known. For parents, a clear transfer plan is more useful than a cheap-looking combination whose responsibilities nobody has explained.
