AI illustration: Travellers discussing a fictional car-to-ferry-office luggage handoff. Fictional scene, not an actual location, person or service.

The road drop, ticket redemption office and boat boarding point may be separate. Plan the luggage movement between them before booking the car.

Read the ferry voucher before giving a driver a pin

Confirm the actual operator, destination island, departure date and check-in instructions. Do not substitute a generic Sanur Harbour pin for the counter printed on the booking. Maruti Group’s own page, for example, says Sanur passengers should first come to its office for voucher redemption before entering the harbour.

Work backward from check-in, not sailing time

Maruti Group asks passengers to check in at least an hour before departure and describes an opening and closing window. That is this operator’s instruction, not every Sanur boat’s rule. Use your own operator’s current deadline, then add road uncertainty, unloading and the office-to-boarding handoff. A car pickup based only on the sailing hour is incomplete.

Send the real bag count to both providers

Tell the car operator the passenger count and suitcase sizes, and ask the boat seller for the baggage allowance, excess charges and loading arrangement for the exact ticket. Do not assume a car that seats the group also fits all its bags or that a boat’s standard fare covers oversized cases.

Ask where the car stops and who helps next

Confirm the permitted drop-off point, how far it is from the office and boarding area and whether you will need to carry or roll luggage. Request actual assistance if needed. The Maruti page notes boarding and disembarking duration can vary with dock conditions; do not turn a terminal picture into a step-free-access promise.

Keep the day’s essential items with you

Keep documents, medicines and valuables in a small hand bag and follow crew stowage instructions. Save the known driver and ferry contacts offline. Check the policy for road delay, missed check-in and weather changes. This guide promises no fixed Ubud drive time, current sailing, luggage allowance or porter service.
