This is the long leg. Udaipur airport (UDR) is the one official pages name as nearest to Banswara, and the road is the only way on.
1. What is published
- Distance: 185 km (Rajasthan Tourism), about 165 km (Incredible India destination page), 164 km (distance box on the Hindi Rajasthan Tourism page). Plan for 185.
- Onward transport: taxis and private cabs are available from the airport (Incredible India). Buses run between Banswara and Udaipur, Jaipur and Bharatpur (Rajasthan Tourism).
2. What is not published
- Taxi fares for this route, and any prepaid counter rate.
- Drive time.
- Bus timings and the last bus of the day.
We will not quote a rupee figure. Any number you see in a blog or a forum is not an official fare.
3. Settle before you leave the airport
- Ask for a fixed total fare for the whole trip, in writing or on a message, with tolls included or listed.
- Ask how long the driver expects the drive to take, and plan your arrival with a buffer.
- Agree stops. If you want a halt for food, say so now.
- Check that the car fits your bags and the number of people.
- Confirm the pickup point and the driver's phone number.
4. If your flight lands late
A late landing plus a long drive means arriving at night. Book the first hotel night with a note about late check-in, and confirm the driver will still wait. If it is too late, consider staying in Udaipur and driving in the morning.
5. The rail alternative
Ratlam Junction is about 80 km from Banswara, roughly half the airport leg by distance, with buses and taxis onward (Incredible India). It can make sense if you are coming by train.
