Your flight arrived at a different terminal: fix the next step first

Check the actual arrival terminal, your pickup or onward flight, and the airport’s transfer instructions. Delhi’s shuttle is a scoped example, not every airport’s rule.

A different arrival terminal changes where you collect the group, meet a driver or start a connection. It does not automatically mean you must travel back to the terminal printed in an old message. First decide whether you are leaving the airport or catching another flight.

Confirm where you actually are

Use current signs and airport staff to identify the arrival terminal after landing. Compare the actual airport code as well: another terminal at the same airport and a diversion to another airport are different problems. Do not book a terminal shuttle to solve an airport change.

Follow your arrival formalities and baggage instructions. Delhi’s international-arrival guidance places immigration, baggage collection and customs before the onward landside journey. Do not leave the baggage process unfinished merely because a driver is waiting elsewhere.

If someone is collecting you

Send the collector the confirmed terminal, arrivals level and an agreed meeting landmark. A person already parked at the old terminal may need a new plan. Check the current passenger pickup location rather than asking a car to stop at any convenient exit.

If your driver booking names a terminal, tell the operator about the change and ask it to confirm the revised pickup and any charge before accepting a new arrangement. No automatic free transfer or fixed waiting allowance is established here.

If you have another flight

Check the onward flight’s actual departure terminal and airline check-in deadline. Your arrival terminal does not determine where the next airline departs. Ask whether bags need collecting and rechecking, rather than assuming an airside connection is available.

Delhi Airport’s inter-terminal shuttle page lists stops at T 1 arrivals Lane 1, T 2 near VIP parking, and T 3 forecourt Pillar 10. It says connecting-flight passengers need to show an onward boarding pass or ticket and obtain a coupon for the complimentary ride. Confirm the operating stops and directions with staff for your journey; these are Delhi examples, not nationwide stop locations.

Do not count only the bus ride

Allow for getting out of arrivals, reaching the stop, waiting, the transfer, check-in and security. The existence of a shuttle does not prove a connection is viable. Ask the onward airline promptly if the changed arrival creates a deadline problem.

Keep the corrected terminal in the same offline journey note as the hotel or onward booking. Replace the old pickup instruction so a companion does not keep following it.

Quick questions

Must I return to the original arrival terminal? Not automatically. Plan from the actual terminal to the next required point.

Is another airport the same problem? No. Compare airport codes, not only terminal numbers.

Is Delhi’s shuttle free for every traveller? Its page scopes the complimentary ride to connecting passengers with a coupon.

Does a shuttle guarantee my connection? No. Include formalities and the onward airline’s deadlines.
