Quick questions

Do Indians need a visa for the Philippines?

No visa is needed for a stay of up to 14 days, or up to 30 days if you hold a valid US, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen, Singapore or UK visa or permit, per the Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs. There is nothing to apply for, but you must complete the e-travel declaration within 72 hours of arrival. See our Philippines visa guide for details.

When is the best time to visit the Philippines?

PAGASA divides the year into a rainy season (June to November) and a dry season (December to May), with December to February the cool dry part. Rainfall varies by region and exposure to moisture-bearing winds, so island choice matters as much as month. See our best-time guide for a month-by-month read for travelling with parents.

What money and connectivity should we plan?

The currency is the Philippine peso, issued by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. For connectivity, Smart sells tourist SIMs that require registration and are valid for 30 days. Electricity is 220V at 60Hz with type A, B and C sockets, so carry a universal adapter.

Any health or safety pointers for parents?

The UK's Foreign Office advises checking health guidance and insurance before travel to the Philippines. For older travellers, plan fewer overnight bases and buffer time before the international flight; inter-island transfers take longer than map distances suggest.
