Jeju sits in an awkward spot for budgeting: flights are cheap, but everything on the island costs real Korean money, and with no rail you will spend more on getting around than you expect. Here is an honest couple's budget built from current sources, using the exchange rate of roughly Rs 70 per 1,000 won (Wise mid-market) so you can think in rupees.

The short answer

A comfortable 4-night Jeju trip for two, flying in from Seoul, lands around 850,000 to 1,150,000 won - about Rs 60,000 to 80,000 - depending mostly on your hotel standard and how often you take taxis. A tighter guesthouse-and-bus version can come in near 550,000 won (about Rs 38,000). The breakdown below shows exactly where the money goes so you can move the sliders yourself.

Flights: 160,000-280,000 won for two, return

The Seoul-Jeju shuttle is the world's busiest domestic route, and fares follow one rule: book two to four weeks ahead and avoid Korean holidays and summer weekends. On that timing, LCC one-way fares typically run 40,000-70,000 won per person; full-service carriers and last-minute bookings run 80,000-150,000 won or more (jeju-escape's 2026 fare guide). For a couple that means roughly 160,000-280,000 won return on LCCs booked sensibly. Watch the fine print: the cheapest LCC fares exclude checked bags. Details in our Seoul to Jeju flights guide.

Hotels: 66,000-135,000 won a night

HotelPing's February 2026 survey of 450 Jeju hotels puts the average night at about 66,000 won in Jeju City, 69,000 won in Seogwipo, 76,000 won in Aewol and 135,000 won in the Jungmun resort strip. For a couple on a first trip, Jeju City is the value base: cheapest average, restaurants everywhere, and the airport 15 minutes away. Four nights there at the average comes to about 264,000 won; the same nights in Jungmun run about 540,000 won. That single choice swings the whole budget more than anything else.

Food: 50,000-90,000 won a day for two

The Korea Consumer Agency's official regional price survey (consumer.go.kr) puts Jeju's average bibimbap at 10,500 won, kimchi stew at 9,625 won and kalguksu noodle soup at 10,375 won - noticeably pricier than Busan, where the same dishes average 9,686, 8,429 and 8,071 won. A realistic couple's food day mixes a simple breakfast from a convenience store or bakery (8,000-12,000 won for two), a casual lunch of noodles or stew (20,000-25,000 won for two), and one sit-down dinner. Black pork barbecue, the island specialty, is the dinner splurge - budget 40,000-55,000 won for two on that night and eat simpler the others. Coffee on Jeju's cafe-heavy coast adds 12,000-15,000 won a day for two if you indulge it.

Transport: 10,000-40,000 won a day

This is the budget line first-timers underestimate, because Jeju has no metro or rail. City buses cost 1,150 won with a transit card, the airport limousine bus 600 runs 4,500 won to Jungmun and 5,500 won to Seogwipo, and the express 101 reaches Seongsan Ilchulbong from the airport area in about 70 minutes (World Heritage Office figures). A couple doing one cross-island sight by bus spends maybe 10,000-12,000 won a day on transport; the same day by taxi runs 35,000-45,000 won or more. Our Jeju airport arrival guide covers the bus and taxi specifics, including the Kakao T app setup to do before you fly.

Sights and activities: 5,000-30,000 won a day

Jeju is kind here. Many of the best things are free or nearly so: the Umutgae shore path and haenyeo divers below Seongsan Ilchulbong, the beaches, the coastal walking trails. The paid summit trail at Seongsan Ilchulbong is 5,000 won per adult. Budget one or two paid attractions or experiences a day and 10,000-30,000 won covers a couple comfortably, with room for one bigger-ticket day (a boat trip or a museum-heavy day) if you want it.

Putting the 4-night trip together

Comfortable version: LCC flights booked ahead (about 220,000 won for two, return, at the middle of the LCC range), four Jeju City nights (264,000 won), food (70,000 won a day, 280,000 won), mostly buses with two taxi days (80,000 won), sights (60,000 won). Total roughly 900,000 won, about Rs 63,000 for the two of you. Tighter version: guesthouse rooms, buses only, market meals - about 550,000 won (Rs 38,000). Splash version: Jungmun resort nights and a rental car - 1,300,000 won and up (Rs 90,000+).

Money mechanics for Indians: contactless Visa and Mastercard work on buses and in taxis across the island, so a forex or zero-markup international card covers almost everything; carry a small amount of won cash for market stalls. If you are still deciding whether Jeju justifies the spend at all, our Busan or Jeju comparison prices the alternative, and the 3-day Jeju itinerary shows what these budgets buy day by day.

asked by readers, answered by us

What is the total cost of a 4-night Jeju trip for two?

A comfortable version lands around 900,000 won (about Rs 63,000): LCC flights booked ahead at roughly 220,000 won return for two, four Jeju City nights at about 264,000 won (HotelPing's February 2026 average), food at 70,000 won a day (280,000 won), transport at about 80,000 won mixing buses and taxis, and sights at about 60,000 won. A tighter guesthouse-and-bus version comes in near 550,000 won (Rs 38,000); a Jungmun resort version with a rental car runs 1,300,000 won and up (Rs 90,000+).

How much should we budget per day for food on Jeju?

The Korea Consumer Agency's official regional survey puts Jeju's average bibimbap at 10,500 won, kimchi stew at 9,625 won and kalguksu noodle soup at 10,375 won. A realistic couple's food day runs 50,000-90,000 won: a simple convenience-store or bakery breakfast, a casual noodle or stew lunch, and one sit-down dinner. Budget 40,000-55,000 won for two on the night you try black pork barbecue, the island specialty.

Do Indian cards work on Jeju, or do we need cash?

Contactless Visa and Mastercard are accepted on buses and in taxis across the island, so a forex or zero-markup international card covers almost everything - including the airport limousine bus and Kakao T rides. Carry a small amount of Korean won cash for market stalls and small shops. For planning, the exchange rate is roughly Rs 70 per 1,000 won (Wise mid-market).
